This and your previous post on humility informed my preaching this week. Great insight as you point out David’s foreshadowing of Jesus’ greater humility. Not only did he lose one son but the more outward conquest he achieved, the greater strife in his own household; and his lusting for the woman forbidden him came full circle in the bed warmer thrust upon him. God indeed has a sense of humor, even the consequences he visits upon us.
